    clicked on your video. found the gun interesting. went to the patreon to find the STL files. in collections I found no collections. then I realized you've made an entire marketing thing around your self and what exactly? heated barrels or something some gun chit chat, and a review of a book. all I even noticed. I thought this is a pretty elaborate page for saying nothing really and there being nothing of real interest on the page to who? anyone? it's like a huge self absorbed UA-cam channel except on that douchie X platform (which I'm sure will be big cause it's stupid). who's paying you $50 bucks a month for the premium?!? 😂 I'm dying to know. Some single guy who has seven cats, the box set of the twilight movies and the schematics of the metropolitan center circled in red and thumb tacked to the wall, that's who 🤣 Then I couldnt close my browser cause your crap froze chrome with all its elaborate b.s. 🤬Gadamn is this what the world's come to everyone wanting a huge marketing strategy behind them and channels and pages and $h!+ ?!?! wtf? better be some some real spectacular $h!+ This sir, has not been. Thanks for wasting my time and restarting my browser.

      The internet is strange and I don't understand it either. Back when I was making videos about modifying 3D printers, I actually had three guys sign up at the $50 level. I don't think they support me anymore. I still have some $20 supporters. I think they just really liked what I was doing and had money to burn. I would rather just have a bunch of guys supporting me for a dollar a month because I make good videos. Anyway, there's no false advertising because I never said that the files for this project are available. It's very much still a work in progress. In the video I did mention that I will release the files eventually. But there's no promise. I hope you have a nice day. We all are going through hard times. I hope it all works out for you.

    A very good and detailed review, but it does feel a bit biased against bambu. A few things worth mentioning; I jotted them down as I watched the video. - The build volume difference is bigger than it sounds. There is no "cheating" on bambu's end; the build volume is as stated: 256x256x256. - The bowden tube setup on the flashforge is horrible. It's pretty bad on the X1C as well, but you can at least print a riser for the glass top so the bend isn't as sharp as it is on the flashforge. - The quick swap nozzles on the flash forge are an excellent concept, but pricey and they always seem to be out of stock. Also, the bambu comes stock with a hardened nozzle. - There's literally an "Unload" button on the X1C under the extruder control buttons. - You don't have to keep removing and inserting the sdcard in lan mode, you can use FTP. Very easy to do and very convenient. I use filezilla. - Most of the comments I see about bambu "privacy concerns" are less about actual privacy and more about "cHiNA BaD" fear mongering. Just an observation. - Bed adhesion on the flashforge doesn't seem to be as good as bambu's gold textured PEI sheets. I rarely have prints life, mostly when it's cold in my room. No glue ever used, just wiped with IPA before every print. - Everything the bambu does before printing is to ensure the best print quality. IIRC you can disable some of those things to speed up the print, but I just leave everything on. The X1C also has an activated charcoal filter. Fully sealed is good for maintaining heat, but you do need airflow for proper venting of VOCs. The X1C does fine in both regards here. None of the gaps are big enough to leak much heat, but they do provide enough airflow for the the filter to do its job. That said, I'd not print ABS or ASA with either without venting outside. Again, this was a very good review, very detailed, but a bit biased. This is usually the case when reviewers are sent products for free "for review". Not a knock on you personally, but very few reviewers who receive "review" products for free are completely unbiased. All that said, as a consumer, someone who'd have to drop the actual cash on the product, the flashforge would be more compelling at $350 or so. At $500, I'm saving another $100 to get a bambu P1S instead. Or if I don't plan on printing ABS, ASA or nylon, I'm getting a bambu A1 for $339. Thanks for posting.

    • @DesignPrototypeTest
      @DesignPrototypeTest 4 дні тому

      Fantastic in depth comment thank you. Many great points but some of which I do want to respond to: - The build volume difference is bigger than it sounds. There is no "cheating" on bambu's end; the build volume is as stated: 256x256x256. I was referencing that the Bambu Lab heated bed does not cover the entire print surface. which extends past the aluminum by approximately 4mm on all sides whereas the Flashforge heated bed goes edge to edge. I tried to show that aspect of X1C in the video here: ua-cam.com/video/_y7Me79WMws/v-deo.htmlsi=oJB9JySvJf-E_h5e&t=3823 You are correct, the X1C has a larger print volume. However, it is not large enough for my large projects. So I consider both printers to be in the same class. - The bowden tube setup on the flashforge is horrible. It's pretty bad on the X1C as well, but you can at least print a riser for the glass top so the bend isn't as sharp as it is on the flashforge. True. Also, the FF has that filament runout switch which is challenging to feed the filament past. Completely and totally inferior to the top of class best I've ever seen filament runout switch on the X1C - The quick swap nozzles on the flash forge are an excellent concept, but pricey and they always seem to be out of stock. Also, the bambu comes stock with a hardened nozzle. True. The only redeeming quality of the FF nozzle is the quick change ability. The reason you can't retract the filament and instead must purge every time you change filament is because of the inferior nozzle/melt chamber design. - There's literally an "Unload" button on the X1C under the extruder control buttons. Another commenter pointed this out. I have tried to use it and find it frustrating to the point that I don't touch that "functionality" any more. BL is trying to take care all details for you so idiot users can't fail. This makes the printer less functional for any user with half of a brain. I don't want to click 3 buttons just to press "unload" that's bad UX. Also, when you click unload you have to tell it what kind of filament you have in the machine. Then (if I recall) it denies you because it can't read the Bambu Lab Chip attacked to BL filament. Total frustration. Easier to just hit the retract button a bunch of times. As I said to the last guy: That's the whole point that I'm trying to make. It's more of a difficulty to use the workflow you describe. The machine is trying to think for me. I am fully capable of running 3D printers. All I need is a warning if I try to remove filament when the nozzle is cold. But even then I still need to be able to remove filament without it at full temperature because of So-Called "cold pulls" to de-clog the nozzle. Seriously, the menu options are wrong and they're a very bad UX design. I should be able to just hold the up arrow on the extruder control and it should unload at full speed. If the nozzle isn't at temperature yet, it should just say "The nozzle is below printing temperatures. Are you sure you want to continue?" The printer treats you like you're an idiot. It's a dumb machine. I'm the human It should do what I want it to do. My options should not be buried deep in a convoluted menu somewhere. - You don't have to keep removing and inserting the sdcard in lan mode, you can use FTP. Very easy to do and very convenient. I use filezilla. I haven't used LAN mode on the BL. I do extensively use the SD Card, and I find that they have either not developed the workflow to be as capable as WiFi printing through their servers or they may be purposefully handicapping the functionality because they really don't want you to print with an SD card. This makes me distrust BL to the point where I do not even have the printer connected to WiFi. My question to you: Is BL as functional over LAN as it is through their servers other than the things you need a server to accomplish? - Most of the comments I see about bambu "privacy concerns" are less about actual privacy and more about "cHiNA BaD" fear mongering. Just an observation. China is bad. They are den of thieves hellbent on controlling the world through manufacturing. They don't want anything to be made anywhere else and they will steal you intellectual property the second they find it. I am an innovator and entrepreneur. Ask me how I know. At this point they won't even work with westerners. It's easier for them to just steal your ideas than work with your to bring your baby to market. - Bed adhesion on the flashforge doesn't seem to be as good as bambu's gold textured PEI sheets. I rarely have prints life, mostly when it's cold in my room. No glue ever used, just wiped with IPA before every print. This seems accurate. But I do like the textured print surface better than the smooth one that came on my X1C - Everything the bambu does before printing is to ensure the best print quality. IIRC you can disable some of those things to speed up the print, but I just leave everything on. For small prints ALL the steps are unnecessary, and really slow things down. I've had 3 minute prints that took 13 minutes because of all the startup steps. There should be a button to do the steps when you first turn on the printer and then run multiple prints without recalibrating. One thing I forgot to mention which the BL absolutely dominates is first layer scanning/problem detection. Absolutely fantastic functionality that has saved me multiple times.

      P.S. I received both printers free "for review." when one costs less than half the price with only a small hit to functionality it gets more love. If you perceive my words as biased that is probably the source.

      @@DesignPrototypeTest Good points as well. - Does that 4mm have any effect on actual printability? Genuine question; I have two A1s with the same bed size and I haven't had any issues the few times I've used the entire build volume on X and Y. - In regards to the unloading and wifi reliance, bambu wanted to make the experience as easy and streamlined as possible for new users. They definitely achieved that; your complaint about unloading is the first I've seen, but probably because most X1C owners have an AMS as well. With LAN mode you lose access to the app and fw updates. You can connect to update, then disconnect though. - I'm not saying china is honest, or even good (I know they're not), but for most bambu users who aren't running huge, profitable print farms, there's probably not much worry that out designs are being stolen. I mean if china really wants my toilet paper holder files, have at it. For anyone who's main concern is privacy, probably wouldn't buy a bambu printer in the first place. - I think all bambu printers ship with the gold textured PEI plates now. I prefer those as well. - Your last two points go hand in hand; those extra steps are what give the bambu the advantage on the first layers. It's not as bad on some of their other printers. On the A1 series it's around 6 minutes of prep. That's fine with me; the tradeoff of not having to babysit the first few layers is worth the small bit of extra time it takes. To each his own though. I understand the cost difference being a factor, I just think that all things considered, and the capabilities of the machines, bambu is still the better value when you step down to the P1S. You get bambu's ease of use, reliability, bigger build volume, and ability to add the AMS for only $100 more. It also depends on what you value the most. For me, reliability and workflow are the main factors I want when 3d printing. That way I can focus on the actual designing and not so much getting the printer to print. I'll check out your X1C review and subscribe for support.

      -4mm Yes. If you have a part which is 256mm long , so you will need to print edge to edge you will not be able to use a raft or a brim to hold the part down and prevent warping off the bed. Because the edges aren't heated that part is going to start peeling off the bed right at the most critical end points. Once it starts peeling the print will zipper off the bed for quite a distance inward. You have to keep those ends held down. Which is why we came up with "mickey mouse ears" instead of a brim everywhere. The endpoints are the critical locations. So if you subtract the 4mm on either side you get a usable print surface of 248x248. But heated print beds already have the problem of being hotter at the center and colder at the edges. With that extra overhang acting like a radiator I think you will lose another 2mm of usefully heated bed at the edges. So we are down to 244x 244mm. Compare that to the flashforge with a 230x230mm bed usefully heated edge to edge. The difference is negligible. I suppose you could argue that the cold surface edges on the BL could be used for a raft or brim to guarantee extra hold down, but you are still printing the same size part. So, is the BL bigger/better. Sure, but in ways that don't matter. It's mostly for show and to claim a larger print area. It's not really useful. Which is why I called it a cheat. -bambu wanted to make the experience as easy and streamlined as possible for new users. Yep. And Apple also makes it's products idiot proof so that consumers can get something that "just works" but you can't do anything with the product that Apple doesn't approve of. No power users allowed. A 3D printer isn't a consumer product. It's for above average skill users. Making an idiot proof machine at the expense of usability for advanced practitioners isn't a good look. -bambu is still the better value BL is undeniably the better printer over all. But if BL gets a 100% score the Flashforge get's at least a 90% (I would argue closer to 95%) and all of the truly useful features are there. To be equivalent value it should cost 90% of $1,200 or $1080 but instead it costs half of that. Meaning the Flashforge provides twice the value.

      The BATF knows where I am. They know where we all are. Phones are always on always listening. The number one author of computer viruses is the United States government. They know everything about you and me. No matter how benign your behavior, I guarantee you're doing something illegal. The only reason they don't act on our "crimes" is because we just aren't worth their time. Also, they don't want to make a martyr of someone who is well liked online. As the joke goes "Don't steal, the government hates competition." They straight up assassinated Brian Malinowski because he was a member of the managerial class who didn't tow the party line. He believed in the right of the populace to be dangerous in equal measure to the government. The government hates competition. Monopolies are bad and yet somehow these cheaters believe they should have a Monopoly not just on the execution of violence but on the very potential to do violence. They are bad people. Of course they want to know where I am. Of course they want to destroy me. Good people are anathema to their existence.

    problem is the roll impedes airflow so the inside won't be dry as fast, some dude demonstrated drying as it's unwinding and printing, needs some length but my money would be on a reel to reel thing blowing desiccated/fresh hot air over the filament if you want it done in an hour.

    The problem I see with almost every drier is they don't have enough airflow. Some are nearly sealed. Anyone who has used a food drier knows it is imperative to get the moist air out of the container or else you've just created a terrarium.

      Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha 🤣🤣🤣. It's a hot end/extruder bro. Where's the bigotry? Is there any substance to your personality other than being an ideologue?

      @@DesignPrototypeTest Yes, this is supposed to be a review on an extruder! In fact, I actually enjoy life a lot more than ideologues who insistently spreads blatant bias on an otherwise (un)educational content. If you don't believe me, I pinky promise that I don't create videos that has more xenophobic prejudice than actual educational content 🤡

      You don't know what xenophobia is and you're a histrionic leftist. But please educate me with your pure morality. Because you are such a better person than me explain exactly what sins I committed in this video.

      @@DesignPrototypeTest Hey let's not resort to direct insults. What you don't say is louder than what you do and I know you know kid

      I didn't sleep a lot last night and my water heater is broken, so I'm a bit stressed today so I guess I missed the clues that you are just a troll baiting me with the "bigot" word. I'm not interested in troll games. We both know I'm not a bigot. We both know Prusa sucks. Even if you won whatever weird game you are playing both of these things would still be true. Peace, out.
